The “Stiftungsgastdozentur für Internationales Bankrecht“ - hereafter “Stiftungsgastdozentur“ - was established in 1989 by faculty members of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt and Frankfurt institutions of the financial sector. With the help of the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the Goethe University, the Stiftungsgastdozentur is currently financially supported jointly by the DZ Bank Foundation and the Interessengemeinschaft Frankfurter Kreditinstitute.
The main purpose of the Stiftungsgastdozentur is to support teaching and research at the Frankfurt financial centre by promoting dialogue between academia - including students - and practitioners in the fields of international banking and banking supervisory law, as well as related issues of capital markets, corporate and European law.
The activities of the Stiftungsgastdozentur are organised and carried out by the Board of Trustees. Its members are eminent representatives of their field with a strong background in academia or practice, including financial supervision.
The activities of the Stiftungsgastdozentur include regular support of the banking library in the University's House of Finance, as well as the organization of events in its field of activity.
