Im kommenden Wintersemester 25/26 wird Gastdozent Maximilien Roche ein Kolloquium zu dem Thema "Introduction to White Collar Crime Fighting" anbieten.
Einen ersten Einblick in die Thematik des Kolloquiums soll Ihnen der folgende Kurzüberblick geben:
This Kolloquium stands
at the crossroads of criminal law, finance law, business administration,
international affairs, economics, sociology, and psychology.
It aims at giving
students an introduction to the various types of white-collar crimes, analyzed
through case studies of corporate scandals and organizational failures.
Students will also be
introduced to:
- preventive, detective and investigative
techniques used in fighting white collar crime;
- connections with corporate governance and key
functions such as risk management, audit and compliance.
Half of the time will be
dedicated to introductory lectures including conceptual notions, practical
real-life examples and an overview of strategies used to fight white collar
crime.
The other half will be
filled by case study presentations by students (assigned ahead of the seminar).
It is meant to be highly
interactive and engaging for the participants.
Grading will be based on participation during
class, case study presentations and individual final papers to be handed a few
weeks after the Kolloquium.
